Building a global brain-health community to launch a brain-scan health app
Dr. Sweta Adatia · Neurologist & Founder, NeuroSense
NeuroSense needed a community before it had a product. Metapher launched a new channel from zero and positioned it where clinical neuroscience meets spiritual practice: explaining what chanting, meditation and ritual actually do to the brain. Run in English for 18 months with a Hindi channel added at month 9, it reached 531K subscribers and generated $140K+ through courses, retreats and live sessions.
English channel 18 months · Hindi channel launched at month 9 and ran 9 months.
Launch a brain-scan based health management app, with an engaged audience already in place at launch rather than acquired after it.
The challenge
A practising neurologist with deep clinical expertise, no media presence, no existing audience, and a product still to launch. Brain health is a category where viewers cannot easily tell expert guidance from confident misinformation, which makes trust the deciding factor, and a slow thing to build from a channel starting at zero subscribers.
What we did
- Started a brand new channel from zero subscribers, building the audience from scratch rather than adapting an existing presence.
- Bridged science with spirituality, explaining what practices like chanting and meditation actually do to the brain, which gave a clinical expert a way into an audience that general neuroscience content does not reach.
- Built a content strategy aimed at brand awareness and at gathering a genuine community of people interested in brain health and wellness, rather than chasing general health traffic.
- Launched in English first, then added a dedicated Hindi channel at month 9 once the format was proven: reaching audiences across Asia and the Middle East from one production pipeline.
- Produced courses and a masterclass, turning the audience into a direct revenue line instead of an ad-revenue-only channel.
- Ran integrated advertising to drive sign-ups for live sessions and retreats, closing the loop from viewer to paying attendee.
The results
Across both channels the engagement reached 531K subscribers, 21.6M views, 241.5M+ impressions and 922K+ watch hours, producing $140K+ in revenue. Dr. Adatia was invited onto Figuring Out with Raj Shamani, India's biggest podcast: authority earned on her own channels converting into reach on someone else's. NeuroSense entered its product launch with an established community and a founder recognised as a regional authority on brain health.
- Featured on Figuring Out with Raj Shamani, India's biggest podcast: the clearest external signal that the authority had landed beyond her own channels.
- English channel monetised within one month of launch.
- Hindi channel monetised on its first day of launch, nine months later.
- Sold courses, retreat passes and live webinar seats directly to the audience.
- Grew to 150K subscribers in the first year, reaching 531K by month 18.
- Established the founder as a recognised authority in brain health, raising personal brand value alongside the company.
The work
“In 12 months we went from unknown to the go-to neuro authority across Asia and the Middle East: 531K subscribers and $140K+ in revenue followed.”
